OnePlus 3T's Dash Charge goes up against Google Pixel XL's USB-PD in video battle of fast charging tech

OnePlus 3T's Dash Charge goes up against Google Pixel XL's USB-PD in video battle of fast charging tech

OnePlus unveiled the 3T esterday, as you may know. It's a OnePlus unveiled OnePlus 3 look alike that comes with improved specs, one of which is a bigger battery capacity. The 3,400 mAh cell should hopefully ensure a good day's use for anyone, but what about how fast you can charge it? Like the OnePlus 3 before it, the OnePlus 3T uses Dash Charge, a proprietary technology that the company claims is among the fastest out there.
To prove its point, OnePlus created the video you can see below, in which it compares the charging time for its latest handset to that of the Google Pixel XL.
The Pixel XL has a similar battery capacity to the OnePlus 3T, but it's fair to note that it is slightly bigger at 3,450 mAh. Google's phone uses the standard, non-proprietary USB-PD (Power Delivery) charging tech over USB Type-C, so the test is a decent way of comparing these two different implementations of basically the same idea - that your phone should charge as fast as possible.
In case it wasn't obvious from the fact that the video was posted by OnePlus, the 3T wins. In 30 minutes of charging from 1%, it reaches 56%, while the Pixel XL only goes to 49%. After one hour of charging, they're at 92% and 71%, respectively. Finally, after an hour and a half the OnePlus 3T is fully charged, whereas the Pixel XL is just at 92%. Google's handset is fully charged in two hours.
