Nikon announces D7500 DX-format DSLR

Nikon announces D7500 DX-format DSLR

Nikon has launched the new D7500 DSLR, the successor to the D7200. The D7500 is a powerful mid-range DSLR that borrows many things from its more expensive sibling, the D500.

The D7500 has the same 20.9 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 5 image processor from the D500. It can shoot 8 frames per second burst mode with full AF/AE for up to 50 images in RAW and 100 in JPEG due to the expanded buffer. The camera also boasts of a 51 point AF system, 15 of which are cross-type, and a 180K RGB metering system, the latter of which is also borrowed from the D500.
The body of the D7500 now has a deeper grip and more comprehensive weather sealing than on the D7200. It's also 5% lighter than the D7200 and 16% lighter than the D500.

The D7500 can also shoot 4K UHD video as well as 4K UHD time-lapse movies in camera. Video files can be stored as MOV or MP4 but with a 1.5x crop. The 1080p mode offers 3-axis electronic stabilization as well. The camera can record video to the card and simultaneously output uncompressed video over HDMI. It also has flat picture profile, zebra pattern and headphone and microphone jacks. The aperture can also be smoothly adjusted while shooting using power aperture.
Apart from that it has a 3.2-inch, 922k dot fully articulated touchscreen display, in-camera batch process RAW converter, built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
The Nikon D7500 is priced at $1,249.95 body-only or with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens for $1,749.95 and will be available this summer in the US.

The Rock teams up with Apple for a funny Siri commercial

The Rock teams up with Apple for a funny Siri commercialTwas a sunny day, everyone minding their own business until Dwayne Johnson - The Rock released a poster for a movie, co-starring Apple’s Siri. Later he clarified it’s actually “a crazy fun commercial”.

The video starts with Johnson nonchalantly cutting a Bonzai tree and trying to record a catch phrase. Then he asks Siri for his schedule and goes on an adventure. The Rock asks Siri for his Lifegoals list and then to call him a Lyft ride. He switches seats with the driver as the video references the stunts Johnson performed in the latest Fast and Furious movies. Siri also brings up the temperature in Rome, and next thing you see is the actor hijacking a plane to the Italian capital.
While hanging from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and painting, The Rock asks Siri to read the last email. Later he shows his fashion line and texts through the voice assistant. The whole 3 minutes 45 seconds is filled with Siri responding to every …

The Nexus 4 is getting some CyanogenMod love with 14.1 nightly builds

The Nexus 4 is getting some CyanogenMod love with 14.1 nightly builds If you are the type of person, who tends to form attachments to particular tech and don't really feel like moving on or upgrading regularly, then chances are you have already found your perfect phone years back and are still with it. If that is the case and taking into account you are currently on a tech-centric site, chances are you are familiar witch CyanogenMod and might even be running the custom OS. Then, you will also be happy to hear that despite the recent calamities over at Cyanogen Inc., the dedicated custom ROM group is still alive and well and constantly expanding its device reach. The team appears to currently be working mostly on CyanogenMod 14.1, which is based on the bleeding-edge Android 7.1 Nougat. Their dedication must really run deep, as nightly builds will soon be available for the four-year-old LG Nexus 4 (mako) as well. In the meantime, there is an experimental build already up and you ca…
